We explore and work in the areas of architecture and design at different scales through strategies that are sensitive to the memories of the sites and to the environment. Our aim is to offer responses to the contemporary social and cultural challenges in territories and cities through interventions whose primary goal is to enhance people’s lives.

NUA arquitectures is an architecture and design studio which has consistently been recognized as one of the emerging young studios in Spain and Europe. The studio has recently been recognized as one of the 40 most promising European studios under 40 years by the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies and the Chicago Athenaeum Museum.

 

NUA has also received an Alejandro de la Sota 2021 Award, was selected in the FAD 2018 Awards, was selected and finalist in the 14th Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Town Planning, received an honorable mention in the 6th Arquia Próxima Program of the Arquia Foundation, and was nominated for the European Contemporary Architecture Award – Mies van der Rohe 2019 awards, among others.

 

NUA’s work has been widely exhibited, including the 15th Venice Biennale-International Architecture Exhibition, and has been published in various national and international media, including the AV “Spain 2019” issue. Recently, Argentine publisher Bisman has released a monograph on his work.

 

The studio has been invited to lecture at several universities and institutions in Spain, Italy, Slovenia and United States, such as the Texas A&M University School of Architecture, the Politecnico di Milano, the University of Sardinia, the Politecnic School of Architecture of Madrid (UPM), the International Piranesi Award Convention, the International Archmarathon Convention in Milan, among others.
